How to tell if Thinkpad Pen Pro is Charging?

2021-02-11, 19:08 PM

Hello.

I have the X1 4th Gen Yoga Thinkpad that comes with the pen that slides in to the side of the base. My question is, is there a way to tell that the pen is charging or do I need to just check the battery status repeatedly to see if it goes up?

Thanks!

Hello Rosie posie,

Greetings!

I suggest that you just monitor the battery status every now and then.
If it's not charging then try to update the BIOS and drivers thru the support site

Hope this helps

I am pretty sure that if the pen is docked in its silo, it is charging. There is no control to set pen-charging thresholds that I have ever seen. For reference, I also have an X1 Yoga gen4.

The only reason I have seen reported for this type of pen to not charge is if, somehow, the springy contacts located inside the silo have been bent such that they no longer touch (or only intermittently touch) the contacts on the pen barrel.

Regards.
