Touchpad and Trackpiont Does not work

An infrequently used laptop has stopped working with the touchpad and tracpoint. The ELAN pointing device show as though the device driver is disabled )error 10 windows cannot load).

This is a Windows 10 device. I have tried with the previous and current driverset (11.21.12.1 3/13/18).

 

I have already checked the cables, Restored form factory, Reinstalled Windows 10 x64.

 

I am not seeing any errors. I was tempted to replace both the touchpad and trackpoint, but opted to boot into an ubunto live disk. Bothe devices worked perfectly.

 

Is there an alternate driver that can be used other than the ELAN?

My touchpad settings completely disappeared, touchpad not working

When my laptop (s340-14api) went to sleep, the touchpad used to stop working, but restarting the laptop would work. But today, it's just stopped working completely.

There's no touchpad settings anywhere on my laptop, not in device manager or anywhere else . There's a 'disable touchpad' option (f6), but it doesn't respond at all, so I assume that there's no touchpad so disable.

USB mouse is working just fine.
