RAM upgrade on P1 Gen 2

2019-11-28, 23:27 PM

Hi all,

I just bought Thinkpad P1 Gen 2 with 16 gb factory installed.  I wanna buy additional 32 gb from Amazon and install it by myself. (32 gb, So-Dimm ddr 4, 2666 MHz)  I am just wondering to see if it is possible to configure 48 gb on two slots (one is 16 gb, the other is 32 gb).  I searched online and community, and it looks okay in case of other laptops, but couldn't find the similar case in P1 Gen 2.

Does anybody know it is okay for me to buy 32 gb ram and configure 48 gb in total for P1 Gen 2?

I would appreciate your comments!!!

Sincerely,

The system will support up to 64gb. You will be ok installing the 32gb dram module for 48gb total.

Will the P1 Gen 1 also support 64 GB?
