Lenovo Thinkpad P70 battery not charging / bluetooth symbol missing

2021-07-10, 23:57 PM

Any insight/support would be much appreciated.

I last purchased a battery for this Thinkpad in 2018.

And the bluetooth symbol went missing just yesterday.

I have tried the following:

For the Battery:

- Open Device Manager > Uninstall "Microsoft AC Adapter" + "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" >> shutdown the laptop >> remove battery >> reinsert the battery >> turn the laptop back on.

- Turn off the laptop >> remove the battery >> hold down the power button for 30sec >> reinsert the battery >> turn the laptop back on.

For the Bluetooth:

- Open Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices > Uninstall device > re-connect the device via bluetooth. (to no avail).

This is how it all appears now.

Battery does not charge.

Plugged in, but the icon is not indicating that it is charging! (normally, there would be a bar that increases inside the battery logo as it is charging.)

Plugged in for 2 hours, and still not charging!

Bluetooth toggle switch is gone!

Bluetooth is not in the Action Center!

Thank you

Hello sc22,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

For charging issues, be sure that the airplane mode is off.
Kindly refer to this related topic from the forums about P70 charging.

As for the Bluetooth, check the device manager, uninstall the driver-be sure to completely remove it from the system by ticking the box to fully uninstall.

Then go to the support site, download and install a fresh copy of the Bluetooth driver.
Check these links from Microsoft:
