P900 clone bootable SSD to RAID volume

2019-12-21, 1:18 AM

Hello all,

I am a new owner of a new P900.

I am using sSATA controller.

I do not know how to use LSI controller...

I have a bootable SSD and I would like to clone it to a RAID volume (2x other SSD drives).

Which is the method that I need to use?

I tried to begin the bootable SSD without any hope , with RAID volume on the same controller (Windows message: inaccessible drive...). Even I tried to use a USB adapter for the bootable SSD, I am unable to boot.

Congratulations on your new P900 workstation.  Unfortunately, to clone a bootable SSD to a RAID volume is going to be somewhat tricky.  Since you currently are using a single SSD on the Intel sSATA controller, then you'll likely need to find some way to slipstream the Intel RSTe RAID driver (as opposed to the Intel RSTe AHCI driver that's currently in your image).  I'm pretty sure a third party such as Acronis should be able to do this.  Check out this Acronis Forum thread here to give you a better idea on what to do.
