Touchpad ELAN problem

I have a Lenovo legion y520, which has a ELAN touchpad driver, i am having a problem when moving the cursor by swiping my finger it translates it as an actual click (as in left mouse click eg, moving cursor from right side of desktop to left side and there happens to be folder in the middle it will open it while i just wanted to move the cursor) and at times as a click and drag. i was able to narrow down the problem to ELAN drivers when disabling the driver and using the built in software one the cursor behaves normally but sadly it doesn't have gestures. I have updated the driver from the official Lenovo support page but unfortunately didn't help. the only make shift solution is to disable tapping from ELAN smart pad. i am hoping for a solution to this.

I would like to ask if this is the way the touchpad behaved before or did this behavior start when you installed an update?

You might want to try uninstalling the drivers from the device manager then rebooting the machine.

Doing that often resolves bad software/driver issues.
