Screen Issue on start up Moto g6 plus

2019-02-09, 8:47 AM

Bought a g6 plus UK version for Christmas. When booting up the phone there is a screen fault (the screen is reversed and looks like interference all over it) this continues until you screen lock then open again and it corrects itself. Can this be corrected or do I need to get a replacement?

Long press the power button until the phone restarts. This should take the phone into Safemode. If it doesn't do it then, then it might just be a rogue app causing the problem.

Hi emrwilks,

Thank you for reaching out. Can you provide us with a sample video of what is happening with the phone whenever you boot it up? This will help us to investigate.

I appreciate the video, emrwilks. This seems an interesting concern, allow us to help. Let's boot your device in Safe Mode for us to isolate whether it is a third-party app is causing this. Try to check if you are experiencing the same concern with the display while booting it in Safe Mode.

To Enable Safe Mode:
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.

Let us know how it goes.

As mentioned earlier booting into safe mode makes no difference.

Hi emrwilks

I understand your sentiments. Can you try to check if there are any pending software updates for your device? Also, please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help us to look into this deeper. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Need help updating your profile? See here
