Certain apps won't upload files after 9.0 update (G6 Plus)

2019-03-31, 20:16 PM

I'm not able to send any pictures or video on discord or snapchat however messenger works fine.

Restarted and reinstalled both apps still to no prevail.

Wifi works completely fine, not sure what's up here.

Only happened since I've updated to 9.0

Just pops up with "Failed to send"

This would be an app problem.. maybe the app is not been updated to support pie. maybe factory resetting the phone would help your problem. but you may have to wait for the app to fully support the update. Hope this helps you :)

Wi-Fi causing some apps not to send pictures/video files after 9.0 update

2019-04-08, 22:56 PM

This only happens on certain apps (Snapchat and Discord at the moment) but when I turn Wi-Fi off or turn on a VPN it works just fine.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks for reporting, sorry to learn about that. We would like to help, just to narrow down—could you confirm if the Play Store is updated to the latest version available?

  • Have you tried performing clear cache/data on those following apps to see if that makes any difference?
  • Have you tried uninstalling these apps and updating them on WiFi?

Also, please update your profile with the IMEI number of your phone? Is it okay if we look into your apps to determine what is causing the issue? This will help us investigate. Make sure that your Motorola Privacy is enabled.

If you need a reference in updating your profile, please click this link. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Let us know how it goes?

I've done all that and put filled in my IMEI number.

Unfortunately clear cache/data and reinstalling on WiFi still doesn't solve the issue.

I couldn't find where I could change the privacy to being enabled so I'm not sure if it already is it isn't

Thanks for trying and updating your profile. We want to look further into this, this can help us investigate and see what's causing the disconnect. Also, kindly send a Bug Report regarding this. Bug Report will collect information about your current device state.

Here's how:
Note: Capture the report right after the issue happened.

1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build number 7 times on the build number to go into the developer options mode]
2. After the above steps, Developer options will be enabled.
3. Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable USB debugging > Toggle On
4. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
5. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Wi-Fi Verbose Logging > Toggle On
6. Once the issue is reproduced, Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take Bug Report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
7. Wait for some time until the Bug Report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
8. Then upload the Bug Report to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport on the forums in a reply or via a private message.
9. Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the Bug report was taken. Please indicate the time that you observed the behaviour in local time.

Hi @matt_baker,

I have a few questions, could you please confirm on the same;

  • Is this Bug Report triggered while the device is in issue state?
  • Is this happening with particular WiFi or with all the WiFi networks, if so pls share router model, make and firmware version?
  • Does this work on any other android device connected to same wifi work at the same time, if so pls share device details?
  • Is it that on WiFi issue happens always or is it intermittent.
  • If not yet done, Pls check if any latest updates are available on play store for a snap chat. Also, make sure its app is given all the needed permissions.

Do let us know if you have any questions?

Regards,
Swaraj
