ThinkBook 14 G2 ARE (20VF) - 2nd SSD

2021-09-17, 1:51 AM

ThinkBook 14 G2 ARE (20VF) laptop comes with 1st 512GB SSD & planning to add 2nd 1TB SSD...

  1. Will it void 3-year premier warranty if I were to add 2nd 1TB SSD myself?
  2. Is "SSD bracket used to lock the screw for the 2280 SSD" found in the system board?
  3. Is "M1.98 x L3.0 screw" found in the system board?

- your laptop specification ThinkBook_14_G2_ARE / 20VF00BHHH

- your laptop storage 512GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe

- you can add 1 x 2.5" HDD / SSD  up to 2TB

- you can replace your M.2 2242 with M.2 2280 SSD up to 1TB

Hello Penang Guy!

Welcome to community forums

Can you provide the machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) from the sticker usually under the case?

This would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

The warranty will not be voided as long as the upgrade won't do harm to the computer.

Bought M.2 2280 SSD but discovered 2nd M.2 socket is not there & furthermore battery size obstructing.

Luckily shop kind enough to allow me to change to 2.5" SSD & added successfully.
