Repair issue

Hello, the screen of my Moto G8 plus, currently under guarantee, suddenly developed vertical lines. I asked for a repair and they attributed the issue to a fall, which is not covered by the guarantee. Their reply seems disingenuous to me and a blatant effort to make me pay. Could anyone tell me if this problem can indeed be caused by a fall? I had not dropped the phone prior to the appearance of the lines.

Welcome to Motorola Forums. Sorry to know about this. Let me check and help you here. We can’t confirm what is the root cause of the issue until we diagnose the device. Looking at the screenshot, it looks like a hardware issue. Please contact the Service Center and get the issue fixed. Go through the link here for repair support. Please don't hesitate to post again in case you need further assistance.

Following your reply, I disputed the diagnosis made by the service center and they agreed that their initial assessment was wrong ("human error" they said), so they fixed it free of charge. Thanks :)
