My new pc makes very loud noises

2020-03-25, 23:04 PM

Hello

I am a lenovo legion t530 tower owner. I bought my pc a few months ago, but recently it has started to make a lot of loud noise and its really frustrating. I am also not the best guy with computers so Im afraid of taking any actions by myself.  It frustrates me even more when I read ratings about the pc and people are saying that the pc is very quiet, whilst mine isn't.

What can the problem be and what can I do?

Thanks in advance

Probably a fan, cd drive or hard drive

Pull off the side panel and listen for it

ive tried to identify the problem, but its very hard to identify which fan it is. I have a ssd hard drive which shouldn't be any problem with. I wonder what's a cd drive?

I had this excact problem. For me, it was the Power Supply fan (I found it in HWInfo64) that was going crazy.

I managed to fix it with an automatic BIOS update through the Device Manager.

Several things i could find in my Device Manager showed up with generic names. I went through and clicked to search for automatic updates to their driver software on all of them (which can only be done manually, one at a time unfortunately), and several of the devices with generic names suddenly got real names that described what they represented, including the motherboard BIOS, which was named something completely generic to start with.

It is listed under the "Firmware" tab (At least it is in mine).

Hope it helps
