some questions about Legion T530-28ICB

2020-04-06, 13:01 PM

Hello!

I am new to the forum, and I am not really a computer guy so I apologize beforehand if any of my questions are stupid :)

I bought my computer used and it is a Legion T530-28ICB. I had problems finding out what motherboard the computer came with but according to intel driver & support update these are my specs:

Motherboard: Lenovo 36E7

Graphics:

Intel® UHD Graphics 630

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

Processor

Intel® Core™ i3-8100 CPU @ 3.60GHz

Memory

8 GB

I mainly used my PC for gaming CS:GO which worked ok to begin with, not the best performance, but tolerable. Now I'm thinking about upgrading the PC to be able to play HL:Alyx and also for better performance in CS:GO and was thinking to upgrade my processor first. Now for my questions:

*Where can I find what processors are compatible with my PC?

*Will I have to get a new power supply if I upgrade?

*Do you guys think I should upgrade graphics as well or is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 decent enough?

*How can I find what RAM are compatible if I should decide to upgrade that as well?

*Is it even worth upgrading, or should I consider just buying a whole new PC maybe?

I would like to thank you for your time, and any answers are greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks alot !

Hello legion friend. I also have the same pc. And to be honest the only thing that I would upgrade if I were you for starters is your memory. It can hold up to 32gb 16gn per dimm slot. I recently due to financial restrictions upgraded my ram also from 8gb 2600 to 16gb 3600 speed with a latency of 16. That from walmart cost me under $60 delivered and the difference is night and day. I can run all games full out now. So that would be my suggestion is to try that before anything.
