Black Screen On Startup/Unresponsive Computer

Hello! I asked a question on this topic previously and my computer started to work again without any issues so I decided not to do anything about it. Unfortunately, this was a huge mistake. A couple of days ago my Lenovo Legion 7i which I purchased around 2 and a half years back has been getting a black screen before the login screen. I went to a Micro Center, inquiring what the problem was and they stated it could be a graphics card issue and that if this is the case, the graphics card and the motherboard would have to be replaced. I was just wondering if this was the case and my only alternative would be getting the replacement graphics card and motherboard. Some other issues I have been having that may or may not be associated with this problem are pixelated screen covering the whole taskbar and it stays that way whenever I open up a new tab or play a game. I don't know if this correlates with my issue but I thought it would be good to talk about. Could I please get some advice on what this issue is and if there are any workarounds other than replacing my graphics card and motherboard or if I even have to?

Hi ayush_katpally!

Sorry for the delayed response.

If it happens that the BIOS is still accessible, from there we can check if HDD is still detected under Information tab > Hard Disk. If it's still detected, while in BIOS, press Fn+F9 / F9 to load default settings, then Fn+F10 / F10 to save changes and exit BIOS.

You can create a backup of your data on a separate location, and consider resetting the device using DDRS method, else reach out to the technical team / service partner for repair assistance.

Black Screen On Startup/Unresponsive Computer

Re:Black Screen On Startup/Unresponsive Computer

Also, I've tried doing a power drain on my computer and this didn't work. My computer likes to turn on sometimes, so I was also wondering if I should change my power settings to keep it always on. Also, I don't want to have to try different methods involving turning off my computer because it might be stuck on the black screen again, but I have too I can try. Some things I haven't done are the BIOS method as I could never load onto it with a second monitor or the regular screen. When the black screen appears, the caps lock key and all other keys are unresponsive.

Greetings, ayush_katpally!

Sorry that you're having trouble with this. If device is still not respond on BIOS access attempt, even when pressing the Novo Button (See picture below), this may suggests an internal component problem that would need to be serviced.

Having the device physically inspected for further sampling, would be the best option now, to see which part is causing it and the fix needed. You may reach out to the technical team / service team for options as well.
