Legion 170w Gan adapter with lenovo legion pro 5

I bought a Legion 170w Gan adapter for my Lenovo Legion pro 5 16IRX9. The original charger was too heavy to carry, and my laptop didn't charge when I plugged in the 170w adapter. Is there any solution? Thank you

Hi kevin213!

Thank you for reaching out to the Lenovo Community!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Legion 170W GaN adapter and your Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX9.

There are two USB-C ports on your laptop model and only one of them supports charging. Ensure the charger is connected to the port with "USB-PD" logo on the back. Also, as this port is not designed as the primary power input, it may not charge when laptop is operating so I advise to try it when device is on sleep mode or power off.

Also, ensure that the adapter have the any of the power ratings listed below:

20 V, 4.75 A
20 V, 5 A
20 V, 6.75 A
20 V, 7 A

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Hector_Lenovo

Thank you for your response. I enabled charge with USB in BIOS. With Usb C to C, it shows the light up but not charge. With Usb C to Slim, it is not charge and not show the light up.
