Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else has been having this issue?

I have been getting intermittent BSOD which is persistently pointing to the HDAudBus.sys.

I'm at a loss as to how to address this issue at this point.

I've already tried to reinstall the recommended Realtek Audio drivers from the Lenovo product page but this issue persists.

Would appreciate anyone having any insight on these leading to a solution.

Please see below WinDbg analyses of the dump file for reference.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

Same problem with Legion 5-15ARH05H (82JU00EBTX). I tried 6.0.9088.1 - 6.0.9126.1 6.0.9205.1 drivers. All of them same, Random BSOD. I analyze dump file and found these. But I can not solve. Is there anyone who can solve the problem?

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

What you guys need to do is downgrade/rollback your GPU drivers.

Go and install an older version of the GPU drivers and you wont get the BSOD anymore. If you are unable to find an older version, let us know.

Thanks.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

Thank you for your answer. but I solved the problem by uninstalling sound driver with DDU and then reinstalling it. If anyone has the same problem, I suggest you try DDU first.

Edit: problem not resolved, it repeated today. Again HDAudBus.sys is crashed.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

Thanks!
This could actually work.

What I did for the meantime was to disable Realtek(R) Audio in Device Manager and since then, I've yet to encounter this particular and rather seemingly random BSOD.

But perhaps I need to give it more time since it has not been that long since I did this and see how it actually goes.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

@rockykoston

¡Hola!

Rolling back drivers is currently not an option I can or am willing to take at this point.

Do you perhaps have some insight explaining this suggested solution?

I mean, I have focused on the audio driver and your suggestion is to rollback video/GPU drivers, which I feel does not seem to align with this issue.

I could be wrong though and I'm just asking so that I'd understand.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

Too bad uninstalling the driver via DDU and reinstalling it did not actually work for you.

I thought that gave me a bit of a clue what direction to take.

This rather seemingly random BSOD is quite annoying.

I'll download the original audio drivers from Lenovo support and give this a try as well.

I Will report back afterward.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

I tried all audio drivers includes the officials but none of them worked. Now I trying official windows 11 gpu drivers (nvidia and amd) on the lenovo support. They are old but may be they work. Because I think realtek audio driver is crashed with an gpu's hd audio driver, nvidia or amd. If the problem does not recur with official gpu drivers in a few days, I will inform you here.

I also reported the problem to lenovo, and forwarded the minidump files. I suggest you do too. so maybe they fix the faulty driver sooner.

Re:Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82B1 | BSOD | DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE | HDAudBus.sys

@DoItYourSelf

Teşekkürler arkadaşım.

Well, that would effectively roll back both the audio and video/GPU drivers.

Let's see how that goes and will look forward and appreciate it if you could report back.

In the meantime, I'll keep the Realtek(R) Audio drivers disabled in Device Manager since I've been using the HDMI audio output most of the time anyway and a USB headset in between.

*Do note that I currently have the most current/latest Nvidia and AMD video/GPU drivers installed and the original Realtek(R) audio drivers installed, I have not updated them and there seems to be no update available anyway.
