installation Windows 11 impossible - LENOVO AIO3 24IAP7

Merci

Hi tatapero40,

Thank you for reaching out to the Lenovo Community!

The error message you're encountering indicates that your hard drive is currently using the MBR (Master Boot Record) partition style, while Windows 11 requires the GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition style for installation on UEFI systems. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

  1. Convert MBR to GPT:

    • Backup Data: Ensure you have backed up any important data from your hard drive, as converting from MBR to GPT will erase all data on the disk.
    • Use Windows Installation Media:
      1. Boot from your Windows 11 USB installation media.
      2. When you reach the "Windows Setup" screen, press Shift + F10 to open the Command Prompt.
      3. In the Command Prompt, type the following commands: shell diskpart list disk select disk X (Replace X with the disk number you want to convert) clean convert gpt exit
      4. Close the Command Prompt and proceed with the Windows 11 installation.
  2. Ensure UEFI Mode is Enabled:

    • Restart your Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO3 and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during startup).
    • Navigate to the Boot menu and ensure that the system is set to boot in UEFI mode rather than Legacy mode.
    • Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  3. Retry Installation:

    • With the disk now converted to GPT and UEFI mode enabled, restart the installation process using your Windows 11 USB.

If you encounter any further issues, please feel free to reach out again.

Best regards,
Hassen_Lenovo

Re:installation Windows 11 impossible - LENOVO AIO3 24IAP7

Merci pour votre réponse, mais je ne vois pas mon disque dur quand je fais list disk, alors que sur l'écran d'installation windows 11 je le vois.

Je ne vois que ma clé USB mais pas le disque dur de mon pc.

Re:installation Windows 11 impossible - LENOVO AIO3 24IAP7

Hi tatapero40,

Thank you for your response and for providing additional details. It seems like the issue might be related to the visibility of the hard drive in the Command Prompt. Let's try the following steps to resolve this:

  1. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • Restart your Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO3 and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during startup).
    • Navigate to the "SATA Configuration" or "Storage Configuration" section.
    • Ensure that the SATA mode is set to AHCI. If it is set to RAID or IDE, change it to AHCI.
    • Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  2. Load Storage Drivers:

    • Sometimes, the Windows installation media may not have the necessary drivers to recognize the hard drive. You can try loading the storage drivers manually.
    • Download the latest storage drivers for your Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO3 from the Lenovo Support Website.
    • Extract the drivers to a separate USB drive.
    • During the Windows 11 installation, when you reach the screen where you select the drive, click on "Load Driver" and browse to the USB drive containing the extracted drivers. This should help the installer recognize the hard drive.
  3. Use Diskpart Again:

    • If the hard drive is still not visible, try using Diskpart again after ensuring the above settings are correct.
    • Boot from your Windows 11 USB installation media.
    • When you reach the "Windows Setup" screen, press Shift + F10 to open the Command Prompt.
    • Type the following commands: diskpart list disk
    • If the hard drive is still not visible, it might be a hardware issue, and you may need to contact Lenovo Support for further assistance.

Best regards,
