Hi Semo9134,
According to the hardware maintenance manual page 27 of Ideapad 320-15IKB, the specifications of the machine are as follows:
Installing a RAM with a higher speed than your device supports will not cause any problems.
The ram with 3200MHz will just automatically clockdown to what is set by your machine. The RAM will simply operate at the maximum speed that your device can handle, which in this case is 2133MHz.
So, you can go ahead and install the 8GB DDR4 RAM 3200MHz to your Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IKB.
You have to keep in mind that a ram with 3200MHz frequency is going to be expensive.
You can check the Parts Look Up site for some OEM compatible ram.
- Go to https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/partslookup
- Type the serial number of your laptop and hit enter
- You can also type your complete machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) on the search bar
- Hit enter and that will take you to the Product Home page for your system
- Click on Parts Tab
- Click on the Machine Type Tab or Model Tab
*** For the OEM compatible RAM modules, head to the Model tab. For other variants of compatible RAM, head to the Machine Type tab.
- Under the Machine Type Tab, you will find the 'Commodity Type' option
- Under Commodity Type, you will see a lot of key words that are related to the computer parts
- Choose "Memory" as the key word for ram
- The results will show what is the OEM compatible ram for your unit
- You will also see the photo of the part and the FRU PN (field replacement unit part number) or simply known as 'part number'
- Use the FRU PN (field replacement unit part number) to check the availability of this ram in some parts resellers or aftermarket in your region
