Re:The power button light/led remains "ON" while laptop is "OFF"

Do the Shift + Shutdown with everything disconnected to the laptop. This would include removing the external monitors and any sub / wireless keyboards and mice.

As the sleep timer is set to do maintenance update when the machine is idle or not in use I assume that you also have the Modern Stand by working with Windows at all time. The power led is active as it would assume low power for the native Modern Stand to be always on Always connected at all time.

To check if Modern Stand by S0 sleep mode is active, type cmd on the search box and run as admin. Type powercfg /a and if you see in the report S0 Low Power Idle, then your device supports Modern Standby.

If you still feel that this LED drain much of the battery power , then you may reach out to the Technical Support Team in your region.

Re:The power button light/led remains "ON" while laptop is "OFF"

Hi there, @Oz_Monge.

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

First, please perform a power drain and here's how: https://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/troubleshoot/lpt000352

If same issue persists, try disabling the Fast Startup. For the steps, kindly refer to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/solutions/ht513773-how-to-enable-or-disable-fast-startup-on-windows-11

Re:The power button light/led remains "ON" while laptop is "OFF"

This time, please load the BIOS defaults and here's how: https://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/troubleshoot/lpt000353

If same issue persists, try the steps below:
1. Launch Admin Command Prompt, using the Windows Search, type in CMD then right click on it then select "Run as administrator".
2. Type in the command powercfg h off and press Enter.
3. Exit Admin CMD then restart your laptop.

Let us know how it goes.

Re:The power button light/led remains "ON" while laptop is "OFF"

Was there any components connected to the machine previously like 3rd party keyboard and mice? Check if there are activities for security like ongoing installation or system scan.

Check devices that can wake the system. Open CMD as admin and type powercfg -lastwake then powercfg -waketimers to check active wake timers.

Turn off the machine using shift + shutdown to compare how it when shutting down with the machine disconnected with the internet.

From the BIOS AOAC, Always on USB are enabled by defaults as this may also contribute to it.

Hi again, this is the info i got for you:

Since day 1, I have been using an external screen:

AOC e1659Fwu 15.6-Inch Ultra Slim 1366x768 Res 200 cd/m2 Brightness USB 3.0-Powered Portable LED Monitor.
But I didnt notice any unusual before

About the action with the CMD:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.1702]
(c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\System32>powercfg -lastwake
Wake History Count - 0

C:\Windows\System32>powercfg -waketimers:
Timer set by [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (SystemEventsBroker) expires at 10:05:07 PM on 5/12/2023.
Reason: Windows will execute 'Maintenance Activator' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.

later it says the followting:

C:\Windows\System32>powercfg -waketimers
Timer set by [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (SystemEventsBroker) expires at 10:36:32 PM on 5/13/2023.
Reason: Windows will execute 'Maintenance Activator' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.

C:\Windows\System32>

Shift + Shutdown: It didt do any difference.

Hope this new info gives you more info to determine the problem.

Thanks in advance.
