Re: YOGA-710-14IKB. Can't get camera to work

Hello everyone,

Im pretty a-technical and I am having trouble fixing my camera, I am using a YOGA-710-14IKB. I followed the steps of several YouTube videos and checked updating drivers.

I need to be able to properly use Skype. If I open the camera it says: 0xA007244 (No Cameras Attached) and in Lenovo Vantage it says: 'Camera is in use or loading failed'.

I saw a similar topic from 2016 but found no solution to my problem.

I hope some can help me out so I can ace that job interview on monday :-)

Kind regards,

Nick

Re: Can't get camera to work

hi NickNL,
Confirm a questions to you:
Open the local camera app, is it working normally? if yes, you should uninstall the skype app then install a latest version skype app after reboot; if no, I suggest you go to the after-sales department to check the hardware equipment.

Re: Can't get camera to work

Hi ,

Like  mentioned try uninstalling Skype then refresh the driver, Since you've tried several steps already you can try these also,

1. Download and install the Camera and Chipset drivers from Lenovo support website and make sure to reboot after updates.

2. Press FN + F8 or the corresponding function key to enable the camera.

3. Reinstall the Skype App if still says camera in use then check if privacy mode is turned off in the vantage app like shown below

Heres also a video sample on how to get drivers if a device is not working on your computer https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/videos/vid100754.

Hope this helps and let us know,

Jeremy

Re:YOGA-710-14IKB. Can't get camera to work

I'm getting the same problem on a Lenovo X1 4th Gen. I've tried:

  • Toggling privacy settings in Lenovo Vantage
  • Installing and uninstalling old drivers and new drivers and rebooting each time
  • Removing the camera from Windows Device Manager

I'm now getting Vantage crashing when I go to the Device Settings for the camera.

This is very frustrating as I cannot use the camera on any video conference software.
