2 days ago I bought this phone. Today I discovered same problem but when I Started Charging Phone in Power Off mode It consistently charged in Raipd Charging speed.

In the nougat build, there's​ a bug with the ram management, which I believe leads to messing up the quick charge.

 After using a bunch of apps, and the ram gets 75% used, that much memory status occupied, no matter if I close the running apps from recently. 

 And that prevents the phone from quick charging, because the phone detects that a lot of apps are being used. 

 I came to that conclusion because my phone wasn't quick charging (and ram was 3/4th used) and after rebooting, my ram was back to normal, and was quick charging normally.

I'm using Lenovo P2 4GB variant from last one month 

Out of box the mobile is with Android 6 and after connecting to my wifi it  upgraded to 7.0

Initially for the first 15 days the battery charging was in fast charging mode 

And from last 15 days it is taking 3 to 4 hours to charge till 95% from 15 to 20 % 

And the fast charging appears for 2 to 3 minutes and comes to normal charging mode 

After trying all sort of things while charging

1 used my adapter to direct power point 

2. Kept in flight mode 

3. Kept in ultimate power saving mode 

4. Restarted while charging cable plugged in 

And nothing worked 

And just now I succeded to fast charge my mobile 

I just switched off my mobile and connected my charging cable 

The mobile charged in fast charge mode (double bolt) and took around 70 minutes to charge till 90℅ from 20℅ 

I just disconnected my mobile from Charger and this charging is enough to survive for 2 days 

Try this will workout for sure

After my earlier post

i have HARD RESET My Lenovo P2 2 days back

and configured my mobile as new one did not backup my mobile with the existing cloud backup

and loaded with all the apps i used earlier (fresh install)

and my Lenovo P2 is Fast Charging normally while switched on condition

provided should not use the mobile whle charging and Daydream should be off

I'm still on Marshmallow.

I discovered that to fast charge I need to turn the screen off while charging, by pressing the power button.

If I leave it to go to Daydream (screensaver) then it does NOT fast charge.

Probably best to just turn off Daydream via Settings > Display > Daydream. This makes the screen turn off instead of displaying the clock.

Having done this myself, fast charging works 100% of the time. A superb feature of this phone!

Only one and simple solution to that... Go setting/display/screen saver and go to option on the top right corner and select' when to start screen saver' and choose while docked....... This worked for me ... Check back and reply...thanks 

I have purchased p2 fast charging is working while phone is switched off and it takes 2 :30 hr for full charge but when I switched on the phone only one thunderbolt shows on battery which it's not fast charging

Fast charging won't work:

1) while using the device. 

2) screensaver is activated.

3) lots of background activities running on data even when device is locked.

Leave the device in idle for 5 minutes and then wake the device to check double-bolt icon appears at the status bar.
