My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Hi

I recently purchased a P14s Gen 4, and i had ordered Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 and MS Office Home & Business 2021 pre installed.

The MS office software is pre-installed fine, no issues.

However, I do not have the Acrobat Standard 2020.  The Customer Care agent that I called sent me the instructions to activate it from my Lenovo Commercial Vantage app, but the "My Software" option does not appear on the Vantage menu (all the other options are there).

I have tried uninstalling and installing the Lenovo Vantage app (yes, the laptop was rebooted), but My Software still does not appear, because if it did, i believe there would be a link there for me to download Acrobat Standard and activate it.

Is there another way pls?

Your help appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Jeff

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Hi Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with activating Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 on your P14s Gen 4. Let's work on resolving this issue.

Have you checked if the Lenovo Commercial Vantage app is up to date? Sometimes, missing features can be due to using an outdated version of the software.

You could try updating the Lenovo Vantage app to the latest version from the Windows app Store

If the above steps don’t work, you can try manually downloading and activating Acrobat Standard 2020 using the product key that should have been provided with your purchase. Sometimes, the software key is included in the documentation that comes with your laptop or sent via email.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Hassen_Lenovo

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Hi Jeff,

It's frustrating when software doesn't appear as it should, especially when it's something as essential as Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:

1. **Lenovo Vantage App**: It seems there might be an issue with the Lenovo Vantage app not displaying the "My Software" section correctly. You've done the right thing by reinstalling the app and rebooting your laptop. If the issue persists, you might want to check for any updates to the Lenovo Vantage app itself or consider reaching out to Lenovo support for assistance with the app¹.

2. **Adobe Account**: If Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 was included with your laptop, there should be a way to activate it through Adobe. Typically, the software would be linked to your Adobe account, and you would be able to download it from there. If you haven't already, create an Adobe account and check if the software is listed under your registered products².

3. **Lenovo Support**: Since the software was supposed to come pre-installed on your laptop, Lenovo's customer support should be able to provide you with a solution or an alternative method to download and activate Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020. They may also be able to provide you with a direct link or a serial number for activation¹.

4. **Check Your Email**: Sometimes, the activation link or serial number for the software is sent via email. Make sure to check any email correspondence from Lenovo or Adobe that might contain activation instructions.

5. **Direct Download**: If you have the serial number for Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020, you can download the installation file directly from Adobe's website and use your serial number to activate it. This bypasses the need for the Lenovo Vantage app⁵.

If none of these steps work, it might be necessary to escalate the issue with Lenovo's customer support, as they have the responsibility to ensure that all pre-purchased software is accessible to you.

I hope this helps, and you're able to get Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 up and running soon!

Best regards

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

thanks Hassen, i have updated the lenovo vantage (not the commercial version), but still no luck even after signing into it, and "My software" does not show up on the app. I have downloaded lenovo vantage from the MS store, and ran the updates, it still does not show either. There was no product key emailed or included with the laptop.

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Thanks Winnebag - good tips, tried them all, but i think getting "My software" to appear on my Lenovo Vantage app (same outcome with Lenovo Commercial Vantage) is key to resolving the issue. I wonder if it is a bug with Vantage - i have version 10.2403.25, which i believe is the latest.

Hi JeffG01,

I'm sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with the "My Software" option not appearing in the Lenovo Vantage app. It's possible that there might be a bug with the current version of the app.

I recommend reaching out to our Lenovo support team directly for further assistance. They can help troubleshoot the issue and provide a solution. You can contact them through this link.

In the meantime, you can also try to check for any available updates for your system through the Lenovo Support website here.

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Thanks Hassen. Someone on the post suggested that I reset my laptop, because restoring to factory image may fix the missing "My software" on Vantage. But if i go for this option, should i choose the option to "Remove Everything", because this will clean the drive. I had purchased Office on my new laptop, this was pre-installed properly with no issues, only the Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 software was missing. If I reset the machine completely, i do not want to lose my MS Office software, and create a new problem. Thanks in anticipation. kind regards Jeff

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Hi Jeff,

Resetting your laptop to its factory settings could indeed resolve the issue with the missing "My Software" option in Lenovo Vantage. However, as you've rightly pointed out, this option will remove all the data and applications on your laptop, including the pre-installed MS Office.

Before you proceed with this step, I would recommend you to backup all your important data. As for the MS Office, since it was pre-installed, you should be able to reinstall it after the reset. Usually, the product key for pre-installed software like MS Office is embedded in the BIOS of the laptop. After the reset, you should be able to download and install MS Office again, and it should automatically activate using the embedded product key.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Hassen_Lenovo

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Thanks Hassen.

Unfortunately "Reset this PC" did not work.

  1. For the reset, I had selected to clear data
  2. re-install from the device (and not by downloading Windows)
  3. During the reset phase, I also selected "Set up as new PC"
  4. lastly, during the re-boot phase of the reset, a BIOS window came up, asking if I wanted to clear TPM.  I chose not to clear TPM.

After the reset and my laptop had rebooted, Lenovo Commercial Vantage was already installed.  Upon launch, i still could not see the "My software".

Office 2021 was not installed, so i had to login to my MS account, and I could see that the purchased Office 2021 product was there, and I had to select download to install it myself.  The Office product was tied to my already pre-existing MS account (I also had another Office 2019 which i had purchased for another computer).

Should I try the PC reset again, but chose to clear TPM?  The warning states that i will lose all created keys in the BIOS, and I thought this was too risky.

I had contacted Customer Care last week and explained to them my issue with missing "My software" on Vantage, and how the Acrobat Standard 2020 was not pre-installed.  They had asked me to send them a screenshot to prove that it was not installed, which I did.  They said that they would send me the product key and link to install Acrobat Standard 2020, but it has been a week now, and they have not replied.

Can L3 support help me here please, as I seem to be going in circles :(.

I have a conference next week, and I really need the Adobe Standard 2020.

(please see attached PDF which has screenshots, if this helps)

Thanks and regards

Jeff

Re:My Software does not appear on Lenovo bridge

Hi Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear that the "Reset this PC" option did not resolve the issue. Given the steps you've already taken, I would advise against clearing the TPM as it could lead to further complications, especially with the keys stored in the BIOS.

Since you've already contacted Customer Care and are awaiting a response, I recommend following up with them to expedite the process. In the meantime, you can also escalate the issue to L3 support for more specialized assistance. You can contact them through this link.

Additionally, you might want to check for any updates or patches for Lenovo Vantage on the Lenovo Support website. Sometimes, specific updates can resolve such issues.

I understand the urgency with your upcoming conference, and I hope this gets resolved quickly for you.

Best regards,

Hassen_Lenovo
