Re: X30 - wireless card not receiving data

Hi!
I reinstalled windows xp on my Thinkpad X30. Fresh system, then installed access connection, updated the firmware (update seems to be ok, like in readme file), installed the driver.
when i reboot the computer access connection can see my network, is associating, getting ip address from dhcp. after couple of minutes is dropping it and i`m unable to connect again. looking into status of the card shows that is sending a lot of packets, but receiving only errors.
i checked my access point, works fine...

updating the firmware broke the card?
and one more question - will x30 work with a USB wireless network card?  (is only USB 1, the slow one?)

Re: X30 - wireless card not receiving data

Welcome to the forum!

I'd get rid of Access Connections first, and let Windows manage your wireless connection, to see whether that makes a difference.

As for USB wireless card, my preferred choice would be PCMCIA but yes, you could use an USB one as well.

You could also upgrade your wireless/modem combo card to a newer wireless card, but you'd lose the modem in the process.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,

George
