Open a command prompt as an administrator.
Or, Windows-X and choose Powershell (admin)
At the C:/windows (or whatever comes up) promt enter:
powercfg -requests
That'll give you a list of devices along with whether or not they are prohibiting the computer from going to sleep. For me, the RealTek HD Audio driver assumes audio is playing (even though none is). All the other devices show "none" next to them.
If none of the listed devices show any results, then a faulty reed switch or its connection to the mobo might be a suspect.
