What is the difference between using tvsu.exe vs Tvsukernel.exe
Hello,
I'm a system admin at a small business trying to automate Lenovo updates for our pool of ThinkPad P51, P52, and P53 laptops with Administrator Command Line. We currently have System Update installed on all of our workstations (no Update Retriever or Thin Installer implemented). I've been reading thru these forums to develop a script that will consistently work in our environment. One question I have that I've never seen answered is what is the difference between using tvsu.exe vs Tvsukernel.exe in the command line?
I've seen many forums where tvsu.exe and Tvsukernel.exe are used seemingly interchangeably. In my testing it seems that whenever tvsu.exe is executed it runs with preset parameters that ignore the parameters in my script, whereas when Tvsukernel.exe is used it runs the parameters I specify (per the log file). I'm aware that the System Deployment Guide references tvsu.exe, but then why all the guidance on using Tvsukernel?
