Ps: the exact reference is
Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15 AST (81D200DTFR)
Hi there I just purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15ast from a local online store in France called cdiscount
It comes packed with ryzen 5 2500u Vega 8 plus 128gb ssd 1tb hdd A fhd SCREEN 3usb 3.0 port including one type c port rj45 gigabyte wifi ac by 4.1 and 35w battery. (really descent for 499e!)
The ram is ddr4 2400mhz according to specs but it is only 6gb among which 4gb are solded on mb and 2gb present as a stick on the only available ram slot on mb.
My issue: I know that 6gb won't be enough to my daily use and I'm planning to upgrade it in a very near futur.
Nobody at cdiscount or Lenovo France were able to give me a clear definitive answer to my concerns.
The product page on cdiscount says: memory slot available: 1. Occupied : yes (2gb)
Max memory 16gb
QUESTION: This size limit of 16gb is it the max size accepted by the memory slot on this particular MODEL REFERENCE?
Or sadly the max size accepted in total by the system runned by windows 10 64bit (thought that 64bit windows wasn't limited by ram)
If this is the "system" limit then it means its only possible to add a 8gb memory stick for a total of 12gb it's fair but you know... 16 would have been way better.
The ram is ddr4 2400mhz but is it cas 16 or cas 17? Thanks for answering that one too
Second question:
I've seen many videos on YouTube of people unmounting the case of the laptop to add memory. And also inserting an adapatator to add another ssd hdd at the place of the optical drive bay.
Can anyone tells me if the sata port that is free on this model I have (330 15ast 81D200DTFR) is effectively a sata 3 port which will give full 6gbs bandwith to a potential ssd or only sata 2 and in this case a hdd would be better as max bandwidth will be 250mbs?
Final question :
Is it possible to add optane memory instead of ram in the memory slot?
Thank you all in advance for your answers
And best wishes to Lenovo and all of you for the year 2019
Greetings from Marseille France.
