Hi @spidey101 ,
Thanks for welcoming me to the Lenovo Community.
I understand Smart Access Memory (SAM), AMD's trademark for resizable-bar, has the following system requirements:
- A Radeon RX 6000 GPU (I have a RX 6800XT, so this is fine).
- A Ryzen 5000 CPU (I have a 5800, so this is also fine).
- AMD Radeon Software (20.11.2 or newer), which I also have.
- A 500 series AM4 motherboard (unfortunately, I have no clue what board is in my system, as it is a Lenovo custom). Would you know what board is in my model?
- An AGESA BIOS 1.1.0.0 or later (again, the BIOS on my system is Lenovo custom, so I have no clue).
Essentially, as I feel missing out on 10% more performance is a real pity.
My guess is that the motherboard could be the issue, although SAM has been reported to work on AM4 400 chipsets also (unsupported).
If the issue is the motherboard or BIOS, I feel both are easy to deal with (e.g. replacing the motherboard for a cheap B500 series and/or flashing the BIOS).
Any thoughts on where the limitation is? Would you happen to know what custom chipset is in my Legion T5? Would flashing a T7 bios on my T5 create a problem?
Happy holidays!
*PS: DOS stands for Disk Operating system, developed by Bill Gates in the 80's. DOS is also the number 2 in Spanish. :)
